Abstract
Recent years have witnessed fundamental transformations that have reshaped the features of traditional criminal justice. The rapid advancement of technology has redefined the tools and methods used by law enforcement agencies in investigations and judicial prosecutions. Digital evidence, cyber surveillance, and expectations regarding the potential roles of artificial intelligence have become integral to the processes of crime detection and bringing perpetrators to justice.
This paper addresses the concept of criminal justice in the digital context and highlights its differences from the traditional context. It also discusses the new dimensions introduced by digital technology across various stages of criminal procedures, from pre-investigation to investigation, trial, and sentencing, while clarifying the challenges and implications associated with each stage.
