The tenth edition of International Conference on Engineering (IEC 2024) was hosted between the period 23rd - 24th of October 2024. This year’s conference is titled under the theme “A new Trend for Research and Development in Engineering” and is jointly co-sponsored by the Faculty of Engineering, Tishk International University (TIU) and Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU) in collaboration with IEEE and IEEE Iraq section as technical partners.
The 10th International Engineering Conference (IEC 2024) is an interdisciplinary forum providing platforms to present new advances and state-of-the-art research in the fields and sub- domains of Engineering applications. The conference scope included, but not limited, to the following research topics: Construction Engineering, Structural Materials, Structural Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Sustainable Construction, Composite Materials, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Green Buildings, Smart Buildings, Restoration and Rehabilitation of Historical Buildings, Renewable Energy, Hydraulic Engineering, Sustainable Materials and Waste Management, Transportation Engineering, Geo technical Engineering, Surveying and Geomatics Engineering, Highway Engineering, Pavement Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science & Big Data, Big Data Analytics, Computer & Information Security, Artificial & Computational Intelligence, Control and Robotics, Communications - Networking & Protocols, Parallel & Distributed Processing, Signal & Multimedia Processing, Biomedical & Health Informatics, Mobile & Smartphone Applications, Cloud Computing, Soft Computing, Data Mining, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Robotics -Automation & Control Systems, Embedded Systems, Mechanical Energy, Petroleum & Mining Engineering, Software Engineering & Applications, Green Computing for Sustainable Energy, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering & Technology, Power & Energy Engineering, Digital Communication.
IEC2024 program committee comprises 90 distinguished members, of whom 85% hold Ph.D. in engineering fields relevant to one or more conference topics. Adhering to international conference standards, the event is held in accordance with guidelines agreed upon with our IEEE technical partners and the regulations established by the Kurdistan Ministry of Higher Education. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review by at least three committee members to ensure compliance with essential quality standards. These include relevance, timeliness, novelty, technical correctness, presentation quality, and the suitability of references used.
The conference receives 82 submissions from several countries, including Iraq, Tunisia, Jordan, Iran, Syria, Malaysia, Germany, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, and the UK.
The conference attracted over 200 attendees from 10 different countries, contributing to a diverse exchange of ideas and innovations. A total of 82 research papers were submitted, with 53 papers accepted across all tracks, leading to an overall acceptance rate of 74.3%.

PROFESSOR BESTOUN S. AHMED AL-BEYWANEE
Professor at Karlstad University, Sweden
Bestoun S. Ahmed, starts working as a Senior Lecturer at Karlstad University on January 14th, 2019. He obtained his BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Salahaddin-Erbil in 2004, his MSc degree from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2009, and his Ph.D. from University Sains Malaysia (USM), Software Engineering, in 2012. He worked as a research fellow at the Software Engineering Research Group at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). His next engagement was as a senior lecturer at Salahaddin University, where he was promoted to Associate professor later in 2015. He completed his postdoctoral research position in the Swiss AI lab at IDSIA (Istituto di Molle di Studi s Intelliigenziale), Lugano, Switzerland, in 2015. He also worked as an Assistant Professor at the Czech Technical University in Prague during 2017-2019. He was also the Software Engineering Chair funded by Red Hat and the STILL (Software Testing Intelligence) lab co-founder in Prague. He was promoted to Associate Professor at Karlstad University in 2020 and later to Professor in 2023. His main research work is on software quality assurance, Applied AI, and Trustworthy AI.

Keynote Speech: Abstract
Abdelazim Negm has been a Professor of Hydraulics (and Water Resources Management) at the Faculty of Engineering, Zagazig University (ZU), Egypt, since 2004. He was the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of ZU from 12/2008 to 12/2011. He was the Head of the Environmental Engineering Department at Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), Egypt, from October 2013 to March 2016. With 400+ papers in national and international journals and conferences, Prof. Negm has contributed to 50+ book chapters and edited 35+ books, including some volumes in The Handbook of Environmental Chemistry book series from Springer. He was the editor-in-chief of EIJEST during the period of 2017–2020, an editor of the EMJEI, which is published by Springer, and an associate editor of the Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Sciences and Scientific African Journal, which is published by Elsevier. He is a guest editor at MDPI and Frontiers, leading several special issues. He was also the Head of the permanent Scientific Committee on Water Resources (committee no.115), the supreme council of Egyptian Universities, Egypt. Prof. Negm is listed in the most famous and prestigious directories in the world, including the American Biographical Institute (ABI), Inc, USA, “Marquis Who’s Who in the World,” 27th Ed., 2010, USA, until now and in IBC’s 2000 as an Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century by International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England, since 2011 until the present. He was nominated for various awards by both ABI and IBC during 2011–2012.

Amin M Abbosh has BSc , MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering (Mosul University), and a Graduate Cert in Higher Education and a D.Eng. degree in Microwave Engineering (The University of Queensland, UQ).
He is now a Professor and Leader of the UQ Electromagnetic Innovations team (EMAGIN). Previously, he served as the Head of the School of IT and Electrical Engineering (now Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) at UQ, Leader of the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC-P) in EM Imaging, Director of Research, and Director of Research Training.
His main research interests are electromagnetic medical imaging, design & analysis of microwave devices for wideband performance, antennas & radio wave propagation.
