Welcome to the 9th ICOWOBAS 2023.

About ICOWOBAS:

The first ICOWOBAS was held 14 years ago, in August 2007 In Surabaya to enhance a new collaboration between Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Indonesia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. A year later, the second ICOWOBAS was held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on 3-4 June 2009 jointly with the Regional Annual Fundamental Science Seminar (RAFSS 2009). In 2017, the conference was held at Salahaddin University (Kurdistan, Iraq) to enrich the collaboration between UTM, UNAIR and Salahaddin University. In 2019, this event was held again in Johor Bahru, Malaysia at UTM. This event becomes a biannual event held by one of those universities. For the first time Tishk International University participated in the 8th ICOWOBAS 2021 conference.

And finally, this year, we are proud to announce that we, Tishk International University, will be the host of 9th ICOWOBAS-2023 and we look forward to meeting everyone in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. The 9th ICOWOBAS-2023 will signify the collaboration between Tishk International University(Iraq), Salahaddin University Erbil (Iraq), Universitas Teknologi Malaysia (Malaysia), Universitas Airlangga (Indonesia).

The 9th ICOWOBAS-2023 is dedicated to offering a unique opportunity and atmosphere for researchers in Kurdistan Region-Iraq to gather, share innovative ideas, discuss novel problems, and collaborate in possible fields academically with international participants as well as themselves.

Aim:

After 15 continuous years of biannual organized ICOWOBAS organization, Tishk international university put every resource to make 9th ICOWOBAS-2023 the best conference organized by far in the region. Therefore, we are aiming to gather novel scientific research, increase the volume of existing academic collaboration, and produce pure and applied science results that will rise the life standards of society. Moreover, 9th ICOWOBAS-2023 is also aiming to extend its usual scope to the new era of environmental sciences, including clean energy and alternative power resources, the global warming concerns and challenges along with pollution mitigation.

Objectives:

The primary goal of 9th ICOWOBAS-2023 is to provide an engaging platform and immersive learning experience to its diverse audience to help shape the future of the fields of pure and applied science, and its interdisciplinary applications. The event is organized with the following objectives

  1.  Maximize the Learnings: Provide an agenda that covers research that’s relevant, authentic, original and trend. Facilitate discussions and learning sessions by using various presentations such as in-person presentations, poster presentations, virtual presentations (if it is required), roundtables, workshops, etc.
  2. Create Dynamic Networking: Make sure that all attendees have an opportunity to engage in discussions outside of lectures and presentations. Set up networking events, use technology to facilitate easy introductions, and create both formal and informal opportunities for networking.
  3. Ensure Accessibility: Use technology to enable anyone in the world to attend the event, be it in-person or virtually (if it is required for those who are not able to travel to the event must be able to seamlessly experience the content of the event through virtual presentations). Make sure to provide visa support to those who can travel to the venue but require a visa to enter the host country.
  4. Maximize The Reach: Make sure that the research presented at the event reaches as many people as possible through the principles of open access/hybrid publishing. Promote the research throughout the network and various marketing channels.

Scope:

The theme of the 9th ICOWOBAS-2023 is “To Present and Exchange Innovative Viable Ideas Relating to the Basic and Applied Sciences” and will address scopes as shown below but not limited to:

  • Pure and Applied Mathematics, and Statistics
  • Biology and Biomedical Sciences
  • Pure and Applied Physics.
  • Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
  • Computer and Data Science.
  • Environmental Sciences
