Previous conferences
The first founding conference of the Union was held under the auspices of the Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2007, where the internal regulations of the Union were drawn up and Mr. Abdel Aziz Moallimi was elected as President of the Union from the Kingdom of Morocco and Prof. Dr. Hilal Al-Bayati, Secretary-General of the Union from the Republic of Iraq. In addition to the election of the Union’s Board of Directors from Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman and Syria. The second conference of the Union was held in Libya under the auspices of the then Prime Minister of Libya, and a large number of Arab and foreign researchers and various statistical institutions participated in the conference. In 2011, the third conference of the Union was held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the auspices of the Jordanian Prime Minister, and a new president of the Union was elected, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sobhi Abu Saleh was also elected as the new Secretary-General of the Union, Prof. Dr. Ghazi Ibrahim Raho, and a new board of directors was also elected. In 2013, the fourth conference of the Union was held in the Republic of Iraq under the auspices of the Prime Minister. A large number of Arab and foreign scholars and researchers and a number of Arab organizations participated in the conference. In 2016, the fifth conference of the Union was held in the Arab Republic of Egypt, under the auspices of the Minister of Planning. In 2018, the sixth conference of the Union was held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the auspices of the Jordanian Minister of Planning. In 2023, the seventh conference of the Union was held in the Arab Republic of Egypt under the auspices of the Prime Minister and in the presence of the Minister of Planning and Economic Development.
