About the Conference

The holding of this conference is considered a major scientific statistical event, as it aims to bring together an elite group of academics and researchers from various Arab countries, during which they will present the results of their research and studies on many contemporary topics of interest in order to help achieve the goals of sustainable development in the Arab countries. The conference title was chosen to represent a bridge to link artificial intelligence and effective statistics with achieving sustainable development goals. One of the main objectives of the conference is to enhance aspects of cooperation and joint ties between Arab statistical agencies towards supporting and strengthening the Arab statistical mission and process to assist governments and planners in making decisions, formulating policies and improving development programmes.

About Erbil City

Erbil is the oldest continuously-inhabited city of the world. Its name was mentioned in the historic writings around the year 2300 B.C., as the name of a town full of life, which is a Sumerian property. The Union of Arab Statisticians is considered an independent body and is one of the specific unions affiliated with the Council of Arab Economic Unity - in the League of Arab States, where it enjoys its legal personality and administrative and financial independence, and has full capacity to carry out its work and achieve its goals, and to open branches and offices in Arab countries in accordance with the laws of those countries. On this basis, the Union was established at the initiative of some heads of Arab statistical agencies and professors in the field of statistics from Arab universities, including the Egyptian Central Bureau of Statistics and the Department of General Statistics in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
