Abstract
The purpose of my presentation is to show the political, economic and cultural activities of the Kurds in the Polish state. I would also like to focus on the position of the Polish government towards the creation of the Kurdish state and the situation of the Kurds divided between the states of the Middle East. For the Poles, the history of the Kurds is close because of the similar history, which is related to the division of Poland between the partitioners. During my speech, I will also present the problems faced by the Kurds in Poland, and I will consider the reasons for this situation.

It is worth noting, that the Kurds appeared in Poland in the 1950s. It was not economic immigration, but a scientific one. The first Kurdish students came from Iraq. This was possible thanks to an agreement between the two governments. Then the Kurds from Syria began to arrive. These students laid the foundation for a future Kurdish diaspora in Poland. They were later supported by Kurds from Turkey, who came to Poland mainly for economic purposes. At present, it is difficult to estimate the number of Kurds in Poland, since some of them have Polish citizenship. This community does not constitute a homogenous group, since they are divided by political views, for example on the vision of the future Kurdish state. Their political and cultural activity is small. The reason for this is the marasm caused by the lack of hope for the creation of a single state.
