Abstract
Different leadership styles have had significant influence on the development of the organizations, especially on the crisis management as it is an important process to prevent disasters and unexpected risks. To investigate the impact of leadership styles in the crisis period many studies have been conducted in both private and public sectors. Meanwhile, few research has been done to investigate effect of servant leadership style on crisis management in general, and especially in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq’s public institutions. Therefore, employing Crisis Management Theory, this study has evaluated the effectiveness of the servant leadership style and the crisis management in the KRI public sector. To obtain the research objective and test the hypothesis, quantitative research design, cross-sectional survey method was adopted. For the purpose of this study, a total of 700 questionnaires were distributed to the public institutions of the KRI, a total of 297 completed and valid questionnaires were returned. Accordingly, the collected data was analyzed by SmartPLS 3.3.3 software program. The findings of this study approved the hypothesized effect of servant leadership style in the crisis period. That is, direct relationship between servant leadership and crisis management was found. All in all, this study has ended with conclusions explaining theoretical and practical contributions and suggestions.
