Abstract
The current working paper is centred on understating the concept of entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial behaviour with the application in the IT industry in Erbil. IT industry is expanding its share in GDP all around the world and growing among other sectors much faster than before. The sustainability of the industry is based on numerous factors. Problem framed, as there is a need to study and uncover the behavioural aspect of the IT specialized, assessing the underlying characteristics of entrepreneurial orientation as innovativeness and proactiveness, which can impact on strengthening the entrepreneurial behaviour among IT and programmers. Statistical techniques got applied to the hypothesis, so two hypotheses formulated based on the proposed research model are testing the relationship and impact of innovativeness, proactiveness and Entrepreneurial orientation on entrepreneurial behaviour. The sample size of 106 IT specialists got analysed for variable reliability, demographic, and descriptive statistics. The factor analysis got used for validating existing factors with items loading to specified factors having KMO and Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity for the independent variable and dependent variable. The hypothesis tested for correlation and regression and presented as the outcome of the study with the dependent variable Entrepreneurial Behaviour. This study concludes that entrepreneurial orientation and its underlying dimensions named innovativeness and proactiveness are vital and have a strong impact on entrepreneurial behaviour among those practising IT and programmers.
