Abstract
The main purpose of the research was to investigate the underlying strategies for enhancing “organizational sustainability performance” (OSP). The study categorizes the existing literature, based on strategic choice theory, which reveals that green human resource management (GHRM) practices play a crucial role in environmental knowledge and organizational sustainability performance. This study investigates the impact of GHRM practices including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance appraisal, and reward with environmental knowledge package and compensation on organizational sustainability performance practices including environmental performance, economic performance, and social performance. A survey questionnaire methodology was used for data collection; data were collected from 35 organizations and companies on the border of Erbil. The findings of the study showed significant effects of GHRM practices, i.e. (recruitment and selection training and development, performance appraisal, reward and compensation), and environmental knowledge on Organizational Sustainability performance, Similarly, this study empirically investigates the correlation role of environmental knowledge between GHRM practices and organizational sustainability performance. The study findings support the hypothesized model. The GHRM is an innovative idea in developing countries, and additional studies are needed to identify sustainability issues and evaluate the impacts of GHRM practices in the organizations and companies on the border of Erbil.
