Dr. Myasar Al-kotajiKeynote Speech I

Dr. Myasar Al-kotaji is dean of college of pharmacy, Ninevah University, Mosul, Iraq. He has PhD in Pharmaceutics/ Biomolecular Drug delivery, from University of Manchester (UK), and Master in pharmaceutics, from University of Baghdad (Iraq), and Bachelor in Pharmacy, University of Mosul (Iraq). He has published 17 research articles in international and natural peer reviewed journals. 27 articles published in different national and international journals. Three patents registered in Iraq and I have supervised eight postgraduate students.

Dr. Reem Abou AssiKeynote Speech II

Dr. Reem Abou Assi is a fully registered pharmacist, currently affiliated as a lecturer at the College of Pharmacy at Al Kitab University, Iraq. She is the leader of the EDEN research group, with a track record of international and national invited judges, research collaborations, copyrights, and awards such as USM fellowships and excellence in publications awards from Majlis Persada Kencana, USM. Recently she was awarded the prestigious International Global Young Academy Membership which is capped at 200 members (2024). She has been spotted in many bulletins, including One Million Real Women in STEM (USA) and Gattefosse® Newsletters (France).

Dr Abou Assi is passionate about looking into and creating new educational resources and workshops that inspire scientists and students to find their gifts and improve their scientific communication abilities. Dr. Reem’s work focuses on creating nanotechnology-based solutions to improve drug performance in the human body with the tagline “safety and efficacy” coming together and is simultaneously published in first-class journals of Q1 and Q2. Dr. Reem fights climate change and promotes science literacy at the Centre for Global Sustainability Studies, USM, where she serves as a green ambassador and an ambassador for education.
At Al-Kitab University, besides the drug delivery and pharmaceutical sciences work, Dr. Reem is the head of the academic entrepreneur incubator, with ongoing collaborations with the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education, and a member of the Al-Kitab University climate change committee, tackling issues that are critical for Iraq’s future via current projects at the EDEN research group.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad AslamSpeaker I

Dr. Muhammad Aslam works in the department of pharmaceutics. He has earned his Ph.D. and Master's degree from Jamia Hamdard in New Delhi, India. He was a research scientist and professor at the BBS Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Allied Health Sciences in Noida, India, as well as a lecturer at the Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research. He has a 97% qualification for Gate -2008. He has over 50 research publications published in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of numerous pharmaceutical associations. Additionally, he has a vibrant professional background in academia and research. For master students, he supervised and created new experiments and initiatives. In general, he is interested in nano-ophthalmic preparations, nanostructured lipid carriers for transdermal administration, and solid lipid nanoparticles for ocular delivery.

Prior to being admitted for master's study in 2009, he worked at several hospitals in the Kurdistan region while studying pharmacy at HMU from 2001 to 2006. He was appointed as GD of KMCA during 2011-2012, then he switched for academia to work as a lecturer at HMU accepted for PhD studying on 2015 and completed on 2019. He was a public science communicator and took part in numerous national and international conferences. He has authored numerous books and translations. He served as the Executive Director of the Higher Committee for Drug Approval in the Kurdistan Region of the Ministry of Health from 2012 to 2018 and as Head of the Registration Department at the KMCA-MOH from September 2008 to June 2009. He was promoted to assistant professor in 2023 and is currently employed by HMU's School of Pharmacy as the Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.

The researcher's name is Dr. Shajwan, from the Kurdistan region of Iraq. She graduated from Hawler Medical University-College of Pharmacy-Iraq, among top ten students in 2019. She also had an educational course regarding Leadership, Law, and social justice at the University of Texas-Austin-USA, which she accomplished with golden status.

Dr. Shajwan is a pharmacist and holds a master’s degree in public health (global health) from the University of Nottingham-UK. She is also a researcher involved in a mixed-method research project entitled Examining Migration and the Epidemiology of Resistance in Groups in Europe (EMERGE), aiming to identify and explore individual, community and broader macro level factors contributing to antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Dr. Shajwan has a specific interest in global health, Control and prevention of communicable diseases, Migrants Health, and Health Equity. She currently teaches at Tishk International University.
