Erbil is the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with a history dating back to at least 6000 BC. Located in northern Iraq, it has been ruled by many civilizations, including the Hurrians, Assyrians, and Ottomans, and has long been an important cultural and religious center.

The city’s main landmark is the ancient Citadel of Erbil, which contains historic mosques and museums. Today, Erbil combines rich history with modern life and is surrounded by popular tourist destinations such as Shaqlawa and nearby mountain waterfalls.
