
About The KIF
The 2nd International Kurdistan–Italy Scientific and Cultural Forum (KIW-2026) will be held on February 15–16, 2026, in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The forum is jointly organized by Salahaddin University–Erbil, Tishk International University, and the Kurdistan–Italy Friendship Association (KIFA).
KIW-2026 aims to strengthen long-term academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation between institutions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Italy. The forum will bring together academics, researchers, and experts to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and explore opportunities for international collaboration.
The program includes scientific workshops, coordination meetings, and interdisciplinary discussions across science, social sciences, law, economics, and cultural studies. It also provides practical guidance on international grants, research funding, scholarships, and Erasmus cooperation, fostering sustainable academic partnerships and mobility programs between Kurdistan and Italian universities.

Erbile City
Erbil is the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with a history dating back to at least 6000 BC. Located in northern Iraq, it has been ruled by many civilizations, including the Hurrians, Assyrians, and Ottomans, and has long been an important cultural and religious center.
The city’s main landmark is the ancient Citadel of Erbil, which contains historic mosques and museums. Today, Erbil combines rich history with modern life and is surrounded by popular tourist destinations such as Shaqlawa and nearby mountain waterfalls.
