Abstract
Childhood has an important social status, and therefore it is necessary to ensure care and protection for this vulnerable group, at the family level, as it is the basic cell with which the child is connected from the moment of his birth, so that the state then assumes the role of complementing it. However, in view of the violations of children’s rights that It marked a significant period of time in human history, which brought childhood issues to the attention of the international arena. Accordingly, the United Nations worked to issue the most important legal instrument that serves as an international reference in the field of caring for and promoting children’s rights, which is represented by the “International Convention on the Rights of the Child.” Believing in the authenticity of children’s rights and their rootedness in the social and moral foundation of Algerian society, Algeria took the initiative to accede to this agreement pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 92-461. It also strived to include this protection and care under its constitutions and internal laws.
