Abstract:  There is no doubt that the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 are one of the most important principles that have been devoted to the protection of many people during armed conflict. This study aims to shed light on these Conventions, and we divided it into three parts. in the first part, we have clarified the importance of the Geneva Conventions and the principles they contain, and in the second part we spoke about the legal nature of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the extent of their obligation . We have left the third part of this study to clarify the serious violations of the Geneva Conventions in international and non-international armed conflicts. And as a conclusion we present the results and recommendations proposed.
